While in the process of looking for some ideas for bookcovers, I can across this great website dedicated to "only the worst sci-fi and fantasy bookcovers". The added delight is the sarcastic commentary that goes with the bookcovers.

Here's an interesting graphic showing the 10 most widely read books of the past 50 years. We'll have to gloss over The Bible, as that's been a best-seller 2000 years however I find fascinating is that in the fiction category, the dominion genre is fantasy

Talking at this weekend's Alt Fiction event in Leicester, sci-fi author Ken McCloud said that the idea for his novel Night Sessions came from watching the U2 video for the band's single Beautiful Day.

Just back from the excellent Olympus 2012 Eastercon UK sci-fi convention, where I saw that in June it will be 30 years since the movie Blade Runner was first released. The movie remains an archetypal dystopian sci-fi/urban fantasy cinematic tour-de-force.
