These four photos are by the writer (and Grievous Angel contributor) Gary Every who says "I have been photographing graffiti for many years with a special subset of Native American graffiti. The photos are mine but the graffiti is done by a guy named Chip Thomas. He is a black guy who has been serving the Navajo as a doctor for decades but began a project to reclaim abandoned buildings by wallpapering his photos of cultural pride atop the rural decay. He goes by the name of Jetsonorama."
The Navajo Nation’s reservation overlaps Arizona and New Mexico. These photos were taken at Lake Powell and Wupatki.
Great video here from Music Matters about Delta blues legend (and founder member of the Forever 27 Club) Robert Johnson, who we'll be covering in the next Weird Tales Radio Show...
Reorganising my office - here are some vinyls that haven't been near a turntable for many years. Bonus prize for anyone who saw Curved Air and/or The Pretty Things live – that'll be me then.
Fun & Strangeness Ahoy!
Urban Fantasist is here to inform and entertain you with tales of pop culture, geek, folklore, history, urban myths, and the weird. "Fun and strangeness" is how one reader describes it.
Hosted by Reuters correspondent and barrister turned blogger, podcaster, storyteller, radio DJ, award-winning tech journalist and sometime werewolf hunter Charles Christian, the site also has links to Charles Christian's books including fiction, nonfiction and latest reviews, as well as his Weird Tales and Smart Radio shows.
The Latest Podcast
In Episode 65 of the Weird Tales Radio Show Janie has a round-up of weird news from around the world and takes a skeptical look at Romanian witches on the web, the latest yeti sightings and an online love spells scam. And we also revisit the medieval tale of the Green Children of Woolpit - was this an early close encounter with aliens, the Fae or merely displaced orphans of war?
