There's an old saying, familiar to anyone who has ever used public transport in London, that there is never a bus when you want one – and then along come three at once. And so it is proving with my writing activities: nothing to report for months and then along come three pieces of news...
First off my creative writing guide – Writing Genre Fiction: Creating Imaginary Worlds – The 12 Rules – has just clocked up its 10,000th sale on Amazon Kindle.
Secondly, I'm now writing a short ebook on Anglo-Saxon history – called Saints & Sinners – for Ancient Origins. As you might guess, this features lots of Dark Age naughtiness in the old Saxon kingdoms of England. More details to follow but this will be published in the autumn of 2019.
Thirdly and finally, I've also signed contracts with another publisher to write a more substantial book looking at the folklore and legends of parts of East Anglia. This will not be appearing until late 2020/early 2021 however once again the objective will be to combine serious history and weird tales with an element of fun.
Urban Fantasist is here to inform and entertain you with tales of storytelling, geek, pop culture, history, folklore and the weird. "Fun and high strangeness" is how one reader described it. Prone to sarcasm.
