Sign up for the new-look Weird Times newsletter – for all fans, readers, listeners, and writers of weird tales, weird facts, and weird fiction.
OK, it was previously called WEIRD and used to pop out about once a year (if we were lucky) however not only are we increasing the newsletter's frequency but we've also totally revamped its contents. It will now cover not just news and information about what is happening on the Urban Fantasist website but also include:
• interviews with authors (audio, video & text)
• regular quizzes, competitions & surveys (with Amazon vouchers as incentives)
• tips & trips for writers & podcasters
• events news (when we finally get out of lockdown!) & radio show information
• opinion pieces, Q+As plus anything else we think you'll find useful and enjoy
And when we say weird tales, weird facts, and weird fiction, we're including history, folklore, and urban fantasy. What's not to love! If you are part of the #weird and/or #amwriting tribes, this is for you. We're super-excited about it and hope you will be as well.
To sign up for the Weird Times newsletter, just send an email headed 'Get Weird' to email@example.com
Wait... already receiving it! How did I get on the distribution list in the first place, you ask? Probably when we were still running the old Grievous Angel science fiction and fantasy, poetry and flash fiction zine, when we had an auto-enrol system. This was in the bad old days before GDPR – we don't do that any longer.
And don't forget all our mailers include a simple <UNSUBSCRIBE> option.
Here to inform and entertain you with books, podcasts, videos and blog posts of weird tales for weird times. "Fun and high strangeness" is how one reader describes it.
Curated by Reuters correspondent and barrister turned writer, editor, award-winning tech journalist and sometime werewolf hunter Charles Christian. The site also has links to Charles' books and the Weird Tales Show.
Charles was born a 'chime child' with a caul – according to legend a caul-shrouded chime-child can't drown at sea but can see and talk to ghosts and fairy folk without fear of coming to harm – allegedly!
